Apple Inc.’s (Nasdaq: AAPL - News) new iPhone might perform a simple task much better than its predecessors: hold a call.
Among the most dramatic design changes in the latest iteration of Apple’s smartphone, the iPhone 4, is a stainless-steel antenna that wraps around its sides. The new antenna design constitutes a radical departure from previous iPhone models, which buried the antenna under the phone’s shell.
The new phone, which goes on sale June 24, puts out more radio-frequency radiation than its predecessor, according to Federal Communications Commission documents. That, along with the new antenna, is expected to give the iPhone 4 greater signal strength and reliability.
Apple hopes the new design will counter one of the most common complaints consumers have with the iPhone: dropped calls. Read More
iPhone 4
If you’ve ever wondered what all the buzz over the new iPhone was about, head over to apple.com to check out the features. With new features like FaceTime, it’s no wonder why so many are talking about it. The iPhone 4 lets you make video conferencing calls on a mobile phone, something that was only an idea a few years ago. But then again, the idea of accessing the internet through a mobile phone was once only an idea as well.
Don’t want to lug your camera, camcorder, and phone all over the place when you’re on vacation? No worries. The new iPhone includes a 5mp camera and is able to record and edit movies in 720p high definition. All in a package that is 9.3mm thin, right there in your pocket.
If you’re worried about your phone breaking if you drop it, worry no longer. The new phone comes with strengthened glass that is more scratch resistant, and a stainless steel band to secure the phone’s parts which also serves as the phone’s antenna.
Problems with multitasking or running multiple apps with your old iPhone? Problem solved. Apple has answered this with the Apple A4 mobile processor. The new processor is designed to answer many of the previous iPhone’s problems, all while claiming not to reduce battery life. The new operating system lets you run, say, a GPS app while listening to music or running other apps, all without reducing the phone’s performance. A more powerful phone with a more power efficient processor is what iPhone patrons asked for, and it’s exactly what they got.
Need some information? Need some help managing your money, or anything else during your day? There’s an app for that. Literally. With over 200,000 at Apple’s app store, you shouldn’t have trouble finding what you need. Some of which are even free. The phone also includes a program called Genius, which suggests apps to you based on the ones that you already have.
Those aren’t the only features that made the phone a hit. With the web and unparalleled video & audio connectivity and your fingertips, Apple’s improvement to a proven product is sure to be a hit with consumers.

Would you friend your parent or child on Facebook? As Facebook, the top social networking site in the United States, becomes popular among all age groups, not just college students, that has become a hot debate. Retrevo, consumer electronics shopping site, conducted a survey of parents’ social media practices, it found that nearly half (48%) of parents add their children as friends on Facebook.
Many kids, especially in the teenage years don’t want to friend their parents for fear it gives them too much of a glimpse into their personal life. Other children like those out of the teenage years figure if they don’t want their parents seeing what’s on their Facebook profile should it be there anyway. For grown children it’s a great way to keep in touch and share photos with parents or other relatives if they are living far away. The 40+ age group has been joining Facebook in droves to reconnect with old friends and colleagues since technology now allows them the possibility of finding a best friend form kindergarten they may have lost contact with. On the other hand parents have admitted it can be awkward seeing all their child’s Facebook updates. As many kids are more tech savvy then their parents they can accept the friend request then limit what their parents can see on our profiles.

This article is the third in a series on the Top Ad Campaigns of the 20th Century according to Ad Age. A reminder of the campaign eligibility, to be in the Top 100 the campaign had to qualify one of the following three ways
- If it was a watershed, discernibly changing the culture of advertising or the popular culture as a whole.
- If it itself was credited with creating a category, or if by its efforts a brand became entrenched in its category as No. 1.
- If it was simply unforgettable.
In this article we will be highlighting numbers 49-25.
We will start with the still famous saying for M&M candies “Melts in your mouth, not in your hand.” The campaign, number 39 on our countdown, came out in 1954 and was created by Ted Bates & Co. M&M candies signature white M on the candies was started in 1954, replacing the black one that started in 1950.
Our next top campaign is number 37, Saturn’s “A different kind of company, A different kind of car.” The slogan was created by Hal & Riney Partners in 1989. The company used the slogan in TV and print ads to set them apart from other companies. Saturn used innovative thinking and customer input for all their car models, unfortunately Saturn fell victim to GM’s cost cutting and the brand is in the process of being phased out along with GM brands Pontiac, Sabb, and Hummer.
Energizer, it is almost impossible to think of them without thinking of the bunny. The “Energizer Bunny,” number 34 on our countdown came out in 1989 and was created by Chiat/Day. The bunny, a pink rabbit, wears sunglasses, blue and white sandals, and carries a drum and drum sticks. The bunny is still the company’s marketing icon and mascot.
Budweiser comes in next at number 27, with its 1970s campaign “This Bud’s for you.” The campaign was created by D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and has spawned numerous songs with “This Bud’s for you” as the chorus line.
Number 25 on our list is still famous over 70 years after the campaign began. Campbell Soup “Mmm mm good” was created by the company of BBDO (Batten, Barton, Durstine, and Osborn) in the 1930s. The company still uses the saying as the company’s slogan for their lines of children and adults soups.
